Reclaim
1000cm by 50cm, plant dyes twine and fabric of the UK, 2021
Reclaim is a site specific installation piece made in collaboration with poet, Jocelyn Page. The piece was created to be shown in the Morley College Sculpture Garden as part of the Waterloo Festival 2021. The festival theme was respair.
Prayer flags are designed to catch the breeze and the language in Reclaim, found poetry gathered from a variety of people living in Britain on the topic of post-pandemic hope, will accordingly flutter into the air, back to the broader community. As the artwork, created with UK-grown fabrics and dyes, fades and breaks down, the materials and verse will return to the earth, so honouring the cyclical nature of prayer flags.
